Announcing Bob Olson Connect: New Content and a Community! 😁
This is the announcement I promised you in December. I’m excited to share the next level of my service to you and what that’s going to look like.
It’s no secret that I’ve been on somewhat of a hiatus over the past year or so. Well, during that break, I’ve done a little soul searching. Okay, maybe a lot of soul searching. I’m about to enter the sixth decade of my life in May (I’m currently 59) and hitting a new milestone like your sixties can cause one to evaluate life. I’m happy to say that two important epiphanies have come from all this.
Two Epiphanies That Resulted from My Soul Searching
First, I’ve realized that it’s important to me that I connect with you.
I love the idea of community. I’ve always said that I have the absolute best audience in the world. Yet, I also realized that I’ve been spreading myself too thin juggling all the platforms where people leave me comments. I imagine you might even relate to this. In any given day, to connect with my audience, I must respond to comments on AfterlifeTV.com, YouTube, Facebook (Meta), Twitter, and my email account.
It conjures images of the tail wagging the dog.
Consequently, I decided I needed to create a community and I needed it to be on a single platform. I also wanted this platform to be advertisement and distraction free.
Second, what’s also become clear to me is that my heart sings loudest when I write.
I’m pretty sure I have a permanent smile on my face while typing stories about my experiences. I also feel that I communicate best in writing. I get to carefully choose my words and express my emotions with vulnerability and authenticity.
The fact is that even while I’ve been on hiatus, I’ve never stopped writing. I’ve written a whole collection of new stories to share with you, and I have a ton of articles I’ve accumulated over the years that few people have read.
Subsequently, I’m thrilled to announce my newest service and contribution to the world, which is an ongoing collection of articles on a platform called Substack. I’ve named it Bob Olson Connect because it’s also my chosen place for connecting with you. Bob Olson Connect is therefore about both Content and Community.
If You Received This Email, You’re Already a Free Subscriber
There’s nothing you need to do since you’ve already signed up for my newsletter in the past. I’ve merely upgraded my email provider from Mailchimp to Substack.
I know you’re going to like the simple-to-navigate Substack format. Here are a few tips to make it go smoothly.
The first time you go to BobOlsonConnect.com, the Substack system will ask you for your email address, upon which it will email you a handy link. Click on that Bob Olson Connect link in your email and you’re in!
You can do the same on your cell phone if you download the free “Substack” mobile app wherever you typically download mobile phone apps OR by visiting https://substack.com/app.
Double check your email preferences on Bob Olson Connect to be sure they’re to your liking (you’ll see your account settings on the top-right side of the website).
What You Can Expect
You’ll get a new article every Friday in your inbox.
These articles will include stories that taught me life lessons, experiences that blew open my skeptical mind, and discoveries from my investigation of the afterlife that provide insights for personal growth as well as comfort for the bereaved. Some of these articles will eventually become books, so you’ll get to read them for free long before they’re published.
I’ve already added three articles on Bob Olson Connect.
You can read these articles by clicking on their titles below (again, you might have to provide your email and click on the link they send the first time you visit):
Why I Went from Private Investigator to Afterlife Investigator – a new article about the unique circumstances that led me to use my skills as a private eye to investigate the afterlife.
Four Extraordinary After-Death Communications – another new article about the very first signs and signals I got from spirit. I may have mentioned these ADCs on Afterlife TV, but I’ve never written an article about this story.
The Secret to Buying the Perfect Gift – this is a humorous story that I shared with you in December about the rabbit hole I fell into while purchasing a thank you gift. I thought I’d add it to Bob Olson Connect for anyone who hasn’t read it and could use a good laugh.
The Benefits of Upgrading to a Paid Subscription
I want everyone to enjoy and learn from the articles I’ll be sharing on Bob Olson Connect without cost, which is why it’s free. But there are also benefits to upgrading to a paid subscription, something this new Substack platform has allowed me to add. Here are the four benefits to upgrading your free subscription to a paid one.
#1: Community & Connection
A paid subscription lets you connect with me (and me with you).
You can ask me questions, share your experiences with me and other like-minded people, and comment on each article. You can also share in the community discussion threads.
This Substack community will now be my priority and exclusive platform for communicating with my audience. I’m truly excited about connecting with you on BobOlsonConnect.com.
I wanted to create a safe space for you to be inspired, supported, and encouraged by me and the other members on Bob Olson Connect. Studies have shown that paid communities attract only those people who truly value the community's intention, which helps to assure a safe space for members who share the same interests and goals.
#2: Audio Recording for Listening to Each Article
The second benefit of a paid subscription is an audio recording of each article.
Audios are located at the bottom of every article and in the podcast area. Some people like to listen as they read the article, others prefer to listen rather than read, perhaps while doing the dishes, driving in the car, or working on a puzzle. Personally, I like to listen to podcasts while showering and shaving.
If you’ve enjoyed the Afterlife TV podcasts, Bob Olson Connect will give you four new recordings every month. The mobile app can be handy for listening to these.
#3: Extra Afterlife Article, Plus Unlimited Access to Archives
Free subscribers will get the Friday articles.
Paid subscribers will get the Friday articles and will also get a bonus article on Tuesday. The Tuesday articles will specifically cover insights about the afterlife. Plus, you’ll have unlimited access to the article archives on Bob Olson Connect. If you’re seeking comfort for your grief or have recognized how much learning about the afterlife influences your personal and spiritual growth, you’ll love these Tuesday articles.
#4: Supporting My Work as a Patron
Many of you have inquired over the years how you might support my work.
People have asked how they might be a patron of my work, especially given that Afterlife TV has been free since I started it in 2011. I appreciate this supportive abundance mindset that inspires people to help writers, artists, musicians, and other content providers to continue sharing their work with others.
I sincerely appreciate your interest in helping to offset my costs and supporting me in making my work available to more people. A paid subscription is only $10 per month or $100 per year ($8.33 per month equivalent), which will ensure that I’m able to keep providing this content for the people who benefit from it.
For those with the means and desire to boost your contribution even more, you can learn more about a third option called the Ambassador Subscription here.
