I’m overjoyed to know that you are well, Bob. You are a light, guiding our way and providing hope to all. We are blessed to have you, and I’m grateful you’re still here with us. Please take good care of yourself. As a giving person, I know we don’t always put ourselves first. But you have to take care of yourself in order to help others.

Thank you for sharing your experience and reminding us that we must make the best of every day.

Many blessings and love to you and yours,

Maria D. 💜

Hi Bob-

I’m so happy u recovered from the TIA & it made me smile to see that u renamed it “The Incredible Awakening”. Yes life is precious, it can be taken away in a second. I hoping u live a long & healthy life. As one of the other people said - “we need you Bob”, sharing all your wisdom! I’m glad u had nice hospital workers around u. Kindness at a time like that goes a long way. My son was in the hospital for many months toward the end of his life. I actually stayed with him all that time, sleeping in his room on a cot! It wasn’t very comfortable, but looking on the bright side, I must say the nurses in the unit ( the ICU) were exceptional! I won’t ever forget how kind they were to my son & to me. It made all the difference in the world. Anyway Bob, hope u are doing well. U still got a lot of living to do! Best wishes.

Thanks Shari. It really does come down to the people during life's "real" moments. There are a lot of exceptional human beings who make it their life's work to support people when they need it most. It's amazing to me the power and meaning a little kindness holds. Thanks for writing.

Great. That should work. Btw…we have a couple living in our small community of homeowners that just, sold their place and are moving back to Maine.

Expand full comment

That's wonderful. It's really a special place, Maine. A lot of people eventually come back. Of course, I think Tennessee is special, too, so that's probably true no matter where you're originally from. We're getting a snowstorm tomorrow--8 to 12 inches--so it ought to be white when they get here.

Bob,

You should market your site for new members. I don’t know how many folks are members, but whatever the number there should be more. Just an idea.

I appreciate the nudge, Eugene. I have 60,000 YouTube followers who haven't heard from me in a couple years, so I'll be telling them about this membership on every episode. With any luck, we'll get a percentage of them to join, especially given that I'll be providing extended Afterlife TV episodes on Bob Olson Connect for members. Fingers crossed.

Bob, Bob, Bob…..what will us poor souls do without your weekly inspirational messages?

You are not allowed to leave. Seriously, I am glad you’re doing good. I think some folks have experienced the “Unknown.” I have. You start thinking, is this it? BTW, you offered a total narrative of events. Considering your dilemma. That’s why you are a writer. Good health to you and yours.

Hi Eugene, I know you like a good narrative. Truth is, I wrote this one for myself, unsure if I would share it. I like to write stories about my life in order to derive the insight from them. I decided it was worth sharing once I saw where it landed. Best wishes to you and yours this year.

Dearest Bob. I am so thankful you overcame the TIA, even to the point of renaming it "The Incredible Awakening"! I experienced a scary health event with my dog, Buddha, on New Years Day, that was, for me, an awakening of sorts. He has recovered but it left a significant impression on me in many ways, one important impression being to spend more quality time with him and the ones I love.

There are so many ways we are reminded of what is important in life, what to release and what to embrace. Health challenges seem to give us profound insights, at times.

May you and Melissa experience most benevolent outcomes in 2024!

Best,

Karen

Hi Karen, I'm really sorry to hear the news about Buddha. As a lover of dogs (we have two now) and having lost one who will forever be in our hearts and minds, I understand. I'm glad he has recovered, but that's scary. I once played with the math of how long dogs typically live and realized that in a dog's life, a day is like a week in our lives. Made me aware that every day counts. My best wishes to you and Buddha in 2024.

Thank you so much, Bob. Buddha is 10 years old, so is a senior, but has the zest for life of a mature puppy. He is a good mirror to me that age is a matter of the mind; if you don't mind it, age does not matter. My dad used to say when he was alive and he lived to be 90 and exited on his birthday.

That's awesome. If it helped your dad live to 90, I'm sold! Love it.

Dear Bob

So glad you are OK. It had to be a scary experience for you & Melissa. I was sharing your experience with my husband, Jerry, a retired physician. He says he hopes you follow up with a checkup with a Cardiologist - because what you had was a warning not to be ignored. But I’m sure you are aware of that.

Please keep us posted of your progress - Melissa needs you, your family needs you and your friends & fans need you. Actually, the world needs you - a voice of kindness & compassion in this sad & sometimes, uncaring world.

With love & warm wishes to you & Melissa for wonderful, healthy years ahead.

Hi Francine! That's the gist of it: live each day as best we can. Thanks for noticing the positive spin. It's not something I plan out, so it helps me to see it when it's reflected back to me. Happy New Year!

Thank you for sharing your tia experience. You are lucky to have renewed life and blessings for a future. I like the Wild Horses quote. Being a Susan Boyle fan, she recorded this song for one of her albums. I say, let's do some living, before we die.

Blessings and thank you 😊
