Thanks, Janet. We had several TV producers excited about it over the years. A few wanted to turn it into something dark or weird, so I refused. Others wanted to focus only on mediumship, which encompasses only a fraction of my investigation. The History Channel (mentioned in the article) gave the thumbs up to a producer to create a two-hour pilot, but the producer dropped the ball because someone shady didn't pay him for a show he created, so he couldn't replenish his working capital to make the pilot. In the end, I trusted that the timing wasn't right.
It is an interesting take on the subject. I need to think about it more. It is hard for me to understand a parent’s jealousy towards his/her kid’s success. But obviously it happens.
Hi Maureen! Yes, considering many parents can be abusive and even abandon their children, I was one of the lucky ones. My father's jealousy helped me become the person I am today. And, in spite of my being truthful about his minor faults, he was extremely loving and kind. I wouldn't trade him for anything.
The only reason I shared this story is so readers might recognize how their own relationships serve a purpose. Sometimes they act as mirrors to us. Sometimes they teach us by example. Sometimes their words or actions (positive or negative) send us in a trajectory that forever changes us for the better. It's all just another experience to help us learn and grow. Look at our relationship, for example. Who knew that you and I would ever cross paths and become friends in this life? The circumstances were tragic, for sure; but I am grateful to have gotten to know you. Thanks for your kind and honest comment, as always. Melissa and I are doing great. I hope the same for you and Jerry.
Your experiences are really helping me feel more comfortable with the idea of pursuing an avenue to spiritual growth. I feel like I have so much to learn, I don't even know where to start, but maybe the right practitioner can help me with that. Perusing your Best Psychic Directory. Thank you, Bob!
Oh my god, Sue, I can't think of a nicer thing to say than your first sentence. Thank you! Follow your instincts (intuition) when choosing what type of practitioner to see, even which person to choose once you've decided upon your modality of choice. I'm sending you positive energy toward choosing the best person who will help you while being loving, kind, gifted, and professional. I always appreciate your authentic and thoughtful comments.
This article was really helpful. I have had issues with both my ex daughters-in-law. I no longer have contact with them, but I can see their actions from a higher place now. You spelled it out so clearly here that it filled in more of the details. I have heard it said it differently as: "Everyone is a mirror for you." "Others are here to show you your triggers, not to solve them." We need to hear it explained in different ways to understand it more completely. Thank you, Bob!
Hi Shalini! I'm glad it resonated. There's such peace in viewing it from a higher perspective. Interestingly, I almost titled this article, "The Mirror Effect." I changed it because I thought less people would be interested in the mirror than knowing why some people are in their lives, even though the two are the same. Thanks for sharing how this fits into your own experiences.
Hi Bob. I agree with everything you said! I have learned to take a higher perspective view and most often, whatever was contributing to what I was facing, becomes clearer to me. Not always, but typically, the "whatever" lessens, resolves, or I no longer allow myself to struggle about it. I have learned to appreciate the role others are playing for me and vice-versa. Reminds me of the Shakespeare quote from MacBeth: " All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts,........"
That's well said, Karen. Thanks for reading and thank you for joining in the discussion. I love hearing how the concepts I discuss play out in your life. Great quote.
As usual, I enjoyed your message and your writing ability. I sure would like it if a show would be made about your after-life explorations.
