Ever worry that your deceased loved one will move on to another lifetime and won’t be there to greet you when you return home? If so, this article is for you.
Bob, thank you for this clarification. I had some idea about it, but you cleared it up so much! My elder son, Jim, my first-born of four children, made his transition last October. I had a Zoom session with a medium in March of this year to make contact with him. She was right-on with almost everything. When she said that Jim said his father, Tom, who transitioned in 2010, has already reincarnated and he didn't get to see his father when he arrived in the afterlife, I felt that she was missing something. Perhaps he was telling her about another aspect of Tom who has incarnated and she wasn't able to get the entire message???
Hi Ann, well I'm really glad you read this. I'm a major advocate for what mediums offer the world, but they don't all have the bigger picture when it comes to the afterlife. There are many erroneous myths that have been passed down from mediums who taught generations ago, and because the newer generations admire and look up to these mentors, they accept what they learn from them as truth. This can lead some mediums to make false interpretations of the messages they are receiving, which is what I believe happened here. It's not done intentionally, of course, but it does--as you experienced--have the ability to cause harm and confusion for those dealing with loss who seek counsel from mediums.
Your example is just another reason I keep doing what I do to teach what I've learned. I'm glad that you questioned it when given the message. Few people trust their own intuition about such things over a medium's interpretation. I have taught mediums who have trained with me to simply give the message they are getting versus interpret what they "think" it means, but only a small percentage of mediums have taken that training. This is a wonderful example of why educating oneself, as you are doing, is so important. Thank you for writing.
Thank you, again, Bob. I've written and published a book on the afterlife, but I'm learning so much more from you, others and the continuation of my own experiences. I'm revising that book, now.
This article cleared up many of my questions! I never met my Father who was killed in WWII. Now I know that he will greet me when I transition! Can you tell me what he will look like? I only have photos of him! Thank you!🥰
Yes, Elaine, he'll greet you when it's your turn to go home. Typically, people in spirit show themselves to people (humans), such as mediums or someone who sees the spirit of their loved one, as a version of that person when they felt best in their life. Often this tends to be people in their 30s if they lived that long. Regardless, you will recognize him as a multi sensory experience, meaning you'll feel his love for you and immediately recognize his energy in addition to his appearance. Even if you never had a photo of him, you'll know him when you get there.
Thank you. This is helpful and comforting, as well as profoundly sensible and understandable. Feels like something I had begun to understand (having seen past lives of my own and my own awareness), but you have framed and expressed it much more clearly.
Hi Bob, So glad you've started a Substack - a useful place to publish short articles as and when. Your differentiation between soul and spirit makes perfect sense and ties in beautifully with all the readings I've done on the Afterlife, Life between Lives and so on. I found your book 'Answers about the Afterlife' really comprehensive - a massive undertaking and I recommend it to anyone interested in what happens when we die. After all, the life and death cycle is an ongoing process until we're ready to 'stay away'!!! Love and blessings,
Hi Sue, I'm glad you're glad. I'm too am glad I started it. I love writing short stories and articles. Unlike a book that takes months or a year, short stories and articles take days, maybe a week.
Thanks for your kindness. That book was truly inspired, as I felt like I was channeling some of the answers. When I wrote about the difference between soul and spirit (a condensed version of the article above), the distinction came to me while writing. I waited until the end of the book to be sure no other evidence or finding contradicted it. By the end, I realized it might be the greatest contribution of my life's work--fully crediting whatever force was guiding me. I appreciate your comment with love.
Thank you Bob for explaining the difference between soul and spirit. In my new age learnings, I equate soul to my I AM, and spirit to my soul. It's all semantics, but I fully agree with an oversoul that puts down individual lives or reincarnations. I also became interested in afterlife when my mother died at age 59 and I was 26 years. It was too young to lose a mother, yet my Dad lost his mother when he was 5 years young. Death was always known in my family. I had a brother born before me who lived only 70 days. As a young child, I remember the trips to the cemetary with mom and Nana to tend to graves.
You're welcome, Joan. I'm sorry to hear about your losses so early in life. That's tough on a young person. I think we may have had similar experiences. My mother's side of the family seemed to have a relationship with death, including car accidents, plane crashes, terminal illnesses... just as many children as adults. In hindsight, I believe it's why I became fascinated with the subject so early in life. It's certainly why Melissa gave me a book about death when she was 11 and I was 14. Of course, it was titled, "Don't Be Afraid to Die," so maybe she had a different motive in gifting it to me ;-)
If we're open-minded enough to consider it (and I already know you are), perhaps our early experiences made us stronger in the end, Joan, teaching us about loss early in life. I know people in the second half of life who are so unfamiliar with death that they're gravely (no pun intended) unprepared when a parent or spouse passes. Well, we could talk all day about the need in our society for an open conversation about death. I appreciate you sharing with me, and letting me pontificate.
Thanks Bob for your reply. I study astrology and numerology. From my 4 major planets in Pisces in 8th house, the native house of Scorpio, I'm well placed in this incarnation to dive deep into subjects others shy away from. 8th house in astrology is also house of death, so I naturally gravitated to the study of afterlife, NDE, and other culture's views on death and dying. I have 1-2 shelves of books on afterlife, death and dying and NDE. We may have had dealings with death and dying togther in a past life, who knows?

I Just LOVE this - so helpful 💗
Thank You!!!
Hi Terry, your enthusiasm jumps off the page. I'm so pleased it helped you. Thanks for letting me know. ♥️

Another great article. Thanks so much for that analogy. I loved it. Definitely made me smile.
If my writing made you smile, Francine, I've already had a great day. Thank you for your kind and generous comment.
