Good for you, Bob! My mediumship teacher is Lee VanZyl, who BTW is on your Best Psychic Directory. The first thing we learned in class was to say "I don't give a sh*t" when doing a reading. The work that we both do is for healing, and the desire to heal others is a calling with a very high vibration. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, Janet! Yes, Lee has been on my directory since 2014--10 years! So happy to hear you have such a gifted and well-rounded teacher. That's a great mantra to tell yourself while giving a reading because it removes the ego from the messages. Dealing with the ego might just be the most critical hurdle for novice mediums. 😁 I appreciate your comment, Janet.
Thanks Bob. Good article - provides good insight. I believe in an an honest review of the negative comment - after the hurt has dissipated - to own what in it is true (if any) & learn from it.
I think too often we tend to dismiss negative comments about ourselves without learning from them.
Hi Maureen, You make a valuable point. One reason I read the comments in those first couple of years was to learn from them, and I learned a lot. In this way, I believe I became a better interviewer. I learned what I was doing that added value to people's experiences and what I was doing that didn't. It wasn't the focus of the article, but it's a great point to make, so thank you for your comment. Be well ♥️
Bob, I think this was one of your best articles. We invite into our lives what we fear most. You were able to turn that around by focusing on what you would like to happen in your life. It's truly amazing how our thoughts can create what we want. Keep up the good work............
Thank you, Jim! I'm glad you liked it. I've been sharing this with friends for years because it was such an eye-opener for me, but I realized I hadn't shared it in an article. I'm grateful for your response.
Once again Bob - your message today spoke directly to my heart!’ “Thank You”!
The book and comment I read and entertained many years ago - “What You Think Of Me , Is None Of My Business”!! Holds sooo True!! Your experience confirms that 100%. And so did Melissa’s advice to you!! I loved how you worked thru the hateful comments that was all about THEM!! 👍💕😊 Rosanne Taylor
Hi Rosanne! Thank you. I love that book title. I think it was an intuitive thing--I just knew I needed to work through it. Now when I get the occassional nasty comment, it usually makes me laugh. People really seem to project their own personality into their criticisms and accusations, which reveals so much about them. We should put mirrors in front of our words. The reflection would teach us so much about ourselves. I appreciate your response ♥️
