Thank you for all you do, Bob. As a developing medium myself, I read this with joy and trepidation. Right now, I'm grappling with the responsibility of doing readings that can have so much impact on the person being read. I do believe in the value of the healing this can do, so I plan to soldier on and try to become the best medium I can be! Namaste! P.S. I'd be happy to do a reading for you some day.
Hi Janet, thank you for your comment and generous offer. I'm excited that you connected the dots between what I said about dream visitations and mediumship. Everything I wrote about skepticism, fear, need, ability, and spiritual path also applies to mediumship.
As you noted, this is beneficial to you as a medium to understand these concepts. It takes much of the responsibility off your shoulders and places it upon you and your client's guiding intelligence. If the person in spirit your client hopes to hear from doesn't show up, you can accept and trust it as being for your client's greater good.
I will share that I grappled with a similar sense of responsibility in the late 90s and early 2000s. I wrote articles about my experiences in this field, recognizing that people were calling the practitioners I had used in my experiences. Some had equally extraordinary experiences as my own. Others had less than extraordinary experiences. I wondered if I was doing a disservice by sharing my experiences with the public in this way.
It was at this time when I had my first past-life regression that taught me a lesson about not taking responsibility for other people's paths. It was no coincidence that this lesson came when it did, and it taught me many of the lessons I wrote about in this article. Consequently, as you know, I continued sharing my experiences with others.
Hello Bob!! Another thought provoking article!! “Thanks” to Tammy and you!! I have been grateful to have wonderful experiences after the death of my husband then much later on with a friend that passed!! The morning after my hubby passed- I stood at our kitchen sink looking out the window where in the roof of the home next door were about 100 Birds!! He loved birds- fed them daily!! I knew that was his gift to me saying “I’m ok - I made it”!! 👍💕. With my friend - as I sat in my chair looking out - I asked my friend to give me a sign!’ Immediately saw out my window hundreds of birds!! I smiled and thanked my friend - what a confirmation!! 👍🥰. Hi Rosanne, your story is a valuable example of what it means to be open to the communications we get from our loved ones in spirit. The birds after your husband's passing must have been amazing to experience. And I imagine your husband being with your friend after her passing, sending you that sign. It's like they were telling you, "We're here. We found each other. And we're watching over you now and will greet you when it's your turn to come home." Thanks for sharing, Rosanne.
Thank you for such a thorough and kind response Bob. Although I have had several friends pass, I’m not one of those people who needs to hear from them. Somehow I hear through pennies, feathers and feelings sometimes. And those are “signs” that I take seriously and that help me.
I feel having you on my radar for so long (thank you YouTube😂!) keeps me balanced and wiser and kinder about all these kinds of experiences.
I love that, Marilise! I agree that those signs are every bit as real and comforting as any other type of spirit communication. Thanks for coming along the ride with Melissa and me all these years.
